About Me

Hello and welcome to SeitanRecipes.com! My name is Kari, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I really, truly love food. Cooking it, eating it, sharing it, taking pictures of it, and even writing about it, it’s all part of who I am.


I live in sunny Phoenix with my husband Brian and our three awesome kids (Mia, Alex, and Emma).
I wasn’t always a desert dweller, though. I grew up in Seattle in a big Spanish family where food was at the heart of everything we did. Some of my fondest memories are of being in the kitchen with my mom and grandma, learning family recipes, sneaking tastes, and feeling the joy of sharing good meals with people we loved. Those early days are what first sparked my passion for cooking.
Over time, that passion grew into something bigger. In 2016, I started my first food blog, Good Thyme Kitchen, as a place to share the recipes my family loved most.
But along the way, I discovered just how much I enjoyed creating dishes with seitan. Seitan is such an incredible ingredient, it’s plant-based, packed with protein, and can be transformed into so many delicious meals. I wanted a space where seitan could be the star of the show.
That’s why, in 2022, I created this blog SeitanRecipes.com. My goal was simple: to build one resource where anyone, from beginners to seasoned cooks, could find seitan recipes, tips, and inspiration all in one place.
This blog is dedicated entirely to seitan, making it easier for people to explore and enjoy plant-based cooking without feeling overwhelmed.
My hope is that when you visit this site, you’ll feel inspired to roll up your sleeves.
